Announcing – Fledge Peru

Fledge Expansion Begins in Peru

SEATTLE, WA and LIMA, PERU – August 8, 2016

Fledge, the conscious company accelerator is expanding, replicating its award-winning, impact-focused business accelerator beyond Seattle. The first of these new cities is Lima, Peru, operated by Asesorandes, a thirteen year old consulting company helping large and small companies succeed within Peru and across Latin America.

For over four years, Fledge has invited entrepreneurs from around the world to Seattle for ten weeks of intense training, guidance and mentorship. A total of 55 companies have attended the Fledge accelerator, those companies based in 16 countries. More than 350 mentors have helped these teams, the mentors hailing from over 30 cities around the world.

“Fledge teaches its fledglings to focus first on finding a business model that works before worrying about scaling. We listen to that same advice,” says Fledge founder Luni Libes, “Fledge works, and we’re eager to see it scale up to help more entrepreneurs.”

There are hundreds of business accelerators in the world. Fledge is unique in two ways. First, it is a for-profit company focused on fellow mission-driven for-profit companies. Through its own existence it is proving it possible to do good by doing business, rather than doing good through philanthropy. Second, it does this by investing in its startups, using a unique revenue-based equity investment model, investing in growth in revenues rather than acquisitions or IPOs.

Both of these aspects are being replicated in Fledge Peru.

“Asesorandes has been working 1-on-1 with startups for years, helping them structure their business plans and find funding,” says Roberto Persivale, Managing Director of Fledge Peru and Partner at by Asesorandes, “and we are excited to bring the proven structure of Fledge to those companies, to others from Latin America, and to bring entrepreneurs from around the world to Peru.”

Fledge8, the eighth installment of the Fledge accelerator, runs from October 10th through December 16th in Lima, Peru. Applications are being accepted now through August 31st.

Seven startups will be invited to attend. Each will be provided $10,000 in cash and 10 weeks of daily programming. Each will be introduced to the existing Fledge mentor network along with dozens of local mentors who work with Asesorandes today.
